i98FM Camp Quality Convoy
Knightmoves Australia Business Relocations registered 2 Trucks to be a part of the i98FM Camp Quality Convoy 2014 charity event.
It was the 10th year of the i98 camp quality convoy for kids Illawarra. The Illawarra community came together to raise funds for Camp Quality Illawarra who help to brighten the lives of kids living with cancer and their families. Last year’s event saw 782 trucks and 900 motorbikes take part in the Convoy with a total of AUD1,191,816 raised.
The Convoy was held on Sunday, November 16. The Convoy departed under police escort from the Illawarra Coal’s West Cliff Colliery on Appin Road at 8am.
The event saw 791 trucks and more than 1200 motorbikes navigate the 70-kilometre convoy route from Appin to Albion Park Rail .
All trucks and motorbikes wishing to participate in the convoy must pre-register and pay a registration fee , As part of the convoy the role of lead truck and lead bike is auctioned off to the highest bidder (all bids in the auction are received as donations ), The Lead truck position was purchased for $192,000.00 and The Lead bike position was purchased for $60,000.00.
In total the i98 convoy for kids Illawarra raised $1,539,907.88 for camp quality Illawarra taking the grand total to over AUD5.8 million dollars raised since 2005. The action continued with a free Family Fun Day at the football fields located within the Croome Road Sporting Complex, Albion Park Rail when the registered motorbikes and trucks begin arriving at around 9am. The Fun Day also included live entertainment, stalls, rides and activities.
